Put on your scariest or silliest Halloween costume and head to the National Zoo this October for Boo at the Zoo, a festive celebration that combines exotic animals with holiday thrills. Taking place from October 25-27 from 5:30-8:30PM, this special zoo event features safe trick-or-treating for little ghouls and goblins at 30 treat stations spread throughout the zoo. Home to hundreds of animals including giant pandas, great apes and big cats, the National Zoo is a national treasure. Located in northwest DC just 20 minutes from the National Mall by metro, this incredible animal center is one of the oldest zoos in America. Boo at the Zoo is a unique way to experience this top-tier attraction in an unusual way. Kids will love the trick-or-treating, and parents will love the safe, family-friendly atmosphere. Spend the evening exploring the zoo and trick-or-treating with your little wizard, monster or ballerina, and enjoy a Halloween night that you won’t soon forget.

Designed for children ages 2-12, Boo at the Zoo is fun, not terrifying. Enjoy holiday decorations, animal encounters and roaming performers during your visit, and don’t miss a ride on the colorful animals of the Conservation Carousel. Tickets for Boo at the Zoo can be purchased in advance online starting on September 17 at 10AM; prices are $30 for non-members (and parking will cost $10 for non-members as well). Costumes are encouraged, so be sure to show up dressed in your Halloween finery – just don’t scare the animals.
