Taste of DC

DC is a city of incredible culinary and cultural diversity, and you can sample it all at this massive food and wine festival. Head to “America’s Main Street” (the section of Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and Capitol Building) for this fun fall celebration, the top food festival in the region. Over 40,000 guests attend this tasty event each fall, which takes place over Columbus Day weekend, October 12 and 13 this year. Along with Restaurant Row, this food festival features a Beer Garden with dozens of brews and a Farm-to-Fork area dedicated to organic, sustainable and local food choices.

Five blocks of this central city street are shut down in favor of flavor, as more than 70 of the best DC restaurants offer samples of your favorite foods. Try classic American favorites and exotic dishes from around the world, along with wine and beer tastings. As the largest outdoor food and music festival on the East Coast, Taste of DC is a top event for gourmets, gourmands, foodies and people who just love to eat aka everyone. Also home of Ben’s World Chili Eating Championship, the festival features a wide array of live music entertainment on multiple stages, from jazz and R&B to funk, blues, country, gospel and rock and roll. You’ll also find dozens of culinary demonstrations, gourmet food trucks and a family zone with interactive games and activities for the kids. Tickets to Taste of DC cost $10 at the door, with tasting items ranging in price from $1-3.
