ICE! Christmas 2014 at the Gaylord National Exhibit

A sprawling, glimmering, indoor ice world awaits families of all ages! Slip into the chilly realm of ICE! Christmas 2014, a dazzling spectacle and brand new Washington DC tradition that features 15,000 square feet of exhibit space transformed into a completely interactive ice world fashioned from over two million pounds of ice.  The exhibit begins on the 14th of November and continues to the 4th of January.

This year’s theme is Frosty the Snowman, and 40 artisans from the world-famous ice-sculpting center of the world—Harbin, China, home of the renowned Harbin International Snow and Ice Festival—were invited to carve out a whimsical Frosty-themed wonderland.  The team of craftsmen and women began their work in mid-October, and has since finished hand carving the exhibit.  Visitors are invited to explore the entire indoor space, but be sure to bring a hat and gloves! Inside the exhibit building, the temperature hovers around a frigid nine degrees Fahrenheit, so the ice is always preserved as it was carved.  Visitors will be able to borrow jackets with the purchase of a ticket.

Walk-up ticket sales are available each day of the exhibition, including discounted tickets for groups of more than 20.  However, many days of the exhibition are slated to sell out, so reservations are encouraged.  Visit www.gaylordnationaltickets.com or call (301) 965-4000.
