Mount Vernon\’s Wine Festival & Sunset Tours
Wine lovers will be absolutely wild about Mount Vernon’s Wine Festival & Sunset Tours. Taking place May 16-18, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Virginia home, this unique DC area thing to do is a vibrant celebration of the state’s wine history. Bring a blanket and kick back on the lawn while tasting reds and whites and everything in between from more than a dozen area wineries while listening to music and taking in the views of the Potomac River. There are tours of the first president’s residence, a truly beautiful mansion. You’ll also be treated to an appearance by George and Martha Washington and their friends, all dressed in Colonial attire. Admission to the Mount Vernon Wine Festival & Sunset Tours is $38 per person. Proceeds go to the site’s upkeep as well as its many educational programs.
