For over three decades, the Memorial Day Jazz Festival has delighted jazz fans with one day of amazing jazz music in the historic setting of Fort Ward Park in Old Town Alexandria. This free festival is a laid-back afternoon packed with cool music, beautiful scenery and family fun. This year, the Memorial Day Jazz Festival features five incredible jazz artists and bands, including famed drummer Al Williams, Jazz Ambassadors Dixieland Band (United States Army Field Band), Joe Baione Trio, Larry Brown Quintet and the Kaleidoscope Orchestra.
Grab bench at the historic Old Town Amphitheatre or bring chairs and blankets, stretch out on the grass lawn and enjoy a relaxing family picnic. Food and drink vendors are available, as well as BBQ, but the event is alcohol-free. After the concert, go explore the scenic grounds of Fort Ward Park, see the cannons and discover the fascinating architectural recreations.
