Arlington Virginia County Fair

Visiting the White House

It’s one of the East Coast’s largest free events. And considering how massive the East Coast of the United States is, that’s nothing to sneeze at. So don’t just stand there, make a beeline for the Arlington County Fair, which takes place Wednesday, August 7 through Sunday, August 11. For over 35 years, thousands of people have been drawn to this amazing event that’s held at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center. There are plenty of things to do for everyone, young and old, male and female, and short and tall. Check out the indoor stage where some of Northern Virginia’s most talented singers and dancers will be doing their thing. You’ll also get a chance to show off your Bingo skills during daily games. Outside at the Kids’ Court, young ones of all ages will be able to participate in face painting, jumping like crazy in the bouncy houses, and getting creative on the Monster Mural.

Of course, the Arlington County Fair wouldn’t be an authentic fair if it didn’t feature animals. Well, you won’t be disappointed as there are pony rides as well as the always good for a chuckle racing piglets. Another cool activity is the 5K Run/Walk. Everyone who enters will get a T-shirt and pre- and post-race refreshments. Sports can be participated in by both kids and adults as there are a wealth of teams, including kickball, softball, soccer, and lacrosse. You can also enjoy some nice nighttime entertainment, like an outdoor movie. Friday night, a family-friendly film will be shown while teenagers will be catered to during the Saturday night flick. Show times are at sundown and patrons are invited to bring along a chair or blanket as well as snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. More fun Fair facts can be found at
